Hi! I'm Rachel, owner of Mindful Movement and Living! I'm here to help you: trust your body, move joyfully, advocate for your body, respect and protect your body, explore all your body can do, enjoy your body, feel less controlled by anxieties and fear, play more, and live intuitively.
As a certified personal trainer and mobility specialist with a BA in kinesiology, a mindfulness teacher, reiki practitioner, and human in this world, I take a deeply holistic approach to coaching that is centered around your unique body and life.

what DO I need to bring to the retreat?
Just a water bottle and your beautiful self!
Lunch will be provided!
where do i go?
Our home base will be PIVOT Movement Studio on Mercer Island. Keep an eye on your email for details about parking.
What should I wear?
Clothes that are comfortable to move in! I would suggest layers to accommodate for our varying amounts of movement. We will not be wearing shoes in the studio, but we will be going on walks at lunchtime, so wear walking shoes.
How athletic is this?
You do not need to have any experience with any sort of movement! Just an open mind, ready to learn! We will be doing joint mobility work, intuitive movement flows (taking inspiration from pilates, yoga, dance, and martial arts), and walking at the park, which is relatively flat. If you have any specific injuries, mobility restrictions, or concerns, please contact me prior to booking so we can make sure this will be a good fit for you!
will i have the option to add 1:1 time with you?
There will not be time for 1:1 sessions during the retreat, but you will have the opportunity to purchase a 1:1 session with me at a discounted price for you to use at any time!
What is reiki?
Reiki (universal life force energy) is a Japanese energy healing technique. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports the body's natural healing processes. Reiki energy goes where it needs to go and you are in control of your healing. As a practitioner, I am simply a conduit. Research has shown Reiki to reduce pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and more.
What is a sound bath?
Don't worry, you're not getting wet! A sound bath is basically meditation to/with sound. I use crystal singing bowls and my voice to create a gentle, soothing environment of sound to help your body relax and move into a healing state of being.
What if i have to cancel?
I understand that life happens. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this event, I am unable to give full refunds. Cancellations made before June 20th can be refunded 75% and cancellations made on or after June 20th cannot be refunded.
are all genders welcome?
All genders are welcome for this retreat! It is vital that this be a respectful and inclusive environment, so there is a ZERO tolerance policy for: sexual harassment of any kind or disparaging or derogatory remarks towards people based on their gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnic backgrounds, religion, ability, caste or age.
